A Friendly City

The city of Osnabruck is one that I will surely miss. Upon arrival, our class was told that it was ranked as the happiest city in Germany. I did not put much stock into such a bold statement. Now that my time is over in this city, I feel as if this statement is true.

Everyone seems to enjoy the job they have in Osnabruck. This includes people with jobs ranging from cleaning off the trains to working as a street vendor. I also got lost in the city on multiple occasions. I never had a problem asking people for help in finding my way. In fact, they seemed glad to help me out! I even hitchhiked a couple times during my stay and had no problems doing it. I even made friends that offered me a place to stay if I ever decide to visit again.

The citizens' happiness begins to rub off on you after a few short days in Osnabruck. I have noticed myself extending the same helpful hand I received in Osnabruck to others more often. The city has a positive spirit about that words, pictures, and this blog can not even begin to describe. I hope to visit Germany again one day, and I know the small city of Osnabruck will surely be included in the trip.
