Day 3
Having spent more time here in Osnabrück now, I can safely say I am having a fantastic time here. I have met some very interesting characters, especially the ever popular Fabio. Even though he has helped me work more on my understanding of Spanish than German, he has been a fundamental help in understanding the nightlife of Germany, which we experienced to the fullest last night. Today, we had a chance to explore the museum and treasury of the Catholic cathedral in Osnabruck. The history in some of the artifacts was astounding. To think that some of the items in that room that were created in the 8th century during the time of Charlemagne were older than the country that I live in was incredible. In one room alone, where the vast majority of treasurers were held, there must have been millions of dollars worth of gold and jewels in different religious artifacts, yet the historical price of those items never could have been measured. The only thing I am dissapointed with is that we did not get to take pictures during any of the tour (which was understandable due to the fabrics on display as well as security reasons). I am now looking foward to what the nightwatchman tour has to offer as a look of Osnabruck at night.
