Germany Day 2

Today is the second day of the program in Osnabruck and I feel as though our class has had an interesting experience already. Elviona and I took a different plane and a different train from the United States to Osnabruck so we arrived at a different time than the rest of the class and had free time to go explore the city for a couple of hours. We found a pizza place and ordered a doner which is  like a turkish sandwich.
We also had our first German language lesson this morning which was very interesting. There are a lot of sounds in the German language that we don't have in English and so it was very difficult to pronounce some of the words. However, we have learned how to say many basic words such as please and thank you which is convenient to communicate with people in the town. We have not found very many people that speak English in Osnabruck other than the students at the university which makes it difficult to ask questions to the people that don't. However, I think that the best way to learn a language is to be immersed in it so I think that it will help to challenge us to learn German.
I am very impressed by Osnabruck so far and I am very excited to see the other cities that we are going to visit.
