German Party

Last night Julie's FaceTime partner Marie, invited us to go to a haus partei. We ended up walking to meet her up because we had missed the bus and we were running a bit late. She gave us directions and she called out Julie's name, but as soon as she saw us turn she thought it wasn't us, but we eventually found her. She was carrying with her a bag full of beer and wine. This house party was totally different from what I was use to, they had 2 apartments up; in one they had music and dancing, in the other they had seats and talking. We felt much more comfortable with just sitting and talking because we had already seen how the Germans were dancing which was unusual. They tend to stand around in a circle and simply sway back and forth. We talked to a guy that was completing his semester veir of English and a guy that worked close to Munich. They were very knowledgable on all subjects, from soccer to politics. They were also very interested in the lifestyle and our view of America. After the party we went to an indie club and the dancing just got weirder, but we had a great time. Definitely a new experience because I am used to the mainstream music and most of what was played was old american music or German bands. We took the night bus back around 3 and sat next to a group of guys that were drunk and had just finished watching a soccer game. I can't remember the name of the team they were cheering for, but they sang us the fight song and talked to us. It was another great night in Germany.
